I’m Zoe Desbiens, a French-Canadian contemporary abstract painter based in Vancouver, BC.

Inspired by nature’s shifting light, colors, and textures, I create layered compositions with a sense of movement, using acrylic on canvas to explore depth and the interplay of light.

As you look at my work, you may find hints of natural elements—like ocean waves, distant landscapes, or pieces of the sky—emerging through abstract forms. These recognizable shapes invite you to consider themes of interconnectedness and the quiet spaces within each moment, like the calm surrounding a storm.

I’m interested in how our human experiences can be mirrored in nature’s changing moods and grandeur, and how we are ultimately connected to it all, finding a sense of peace within this awareness.
